NATIONAL MAGAZINE FEATURES ARTICLE ON SEAL SITTERS

(August 2008)

Wildlife Conservation Magazine, a national publication by the Wildlife Conservation Society, features a Brenda Peterson article about Seal Sitters. “Seal Sitting: On Beach Patrol in Seattle” appears in the September/October 2008 issue (available at better newsstands) and is the lead story on the magazine’s website.

SEAL PUP REHAB AND RELEASE

(March 2008)

This little seal pup was “on death’s

door” when found by Seal Sitters, rescued from a West Seattle beach by PAWS and taken to their facility for rehab. Weighing a mere 28 pounds at the time and suffering from parasitic infestation, he was a respectable 70-pound ball of blubber when released back into Puget Sound two months later. Here “Lucky”  looks back to thank PAWS staffers and a Seal Sitter volunteer before swimming off with a second chance at life.

ORION MAGAZINE FEATURES PETERSON ARTICLE “SAVING SEALS”

(January 2008)

Orion Magazine, one of the premier periodicals on nature, culture and the environment, featured an article by Seal Sitter Brenda Peterson, “Saving Seals: Our duties in this world and beyond” in the January/February issue. “Two friends keep watch over a baby seal hauled up on a beach. Both are compelled by a love of this world, though one is seduced by thoughts of the next.” ~ Orion
