Rain or shine, Seal Sitters volunteers are on the job, protecting marine mammals.
As long as an animal is on shore in West Seattle, we have volunteers ensuring their safety.

As a volunteer-led group, Seal Sitters depends on donations to help offset our costs of operation.

How your donation helps

Your donation directly supports critical marine mammal protection work in our community. Every contribution helps us respond to emergencies, educate the public, and save lives.

Your support funds:

  • A dedicated phone hotline enabling the public to alert us to marine mammals on the beach

  • Volunteer training expenses and safety equipment

  • Educational materials for community outreach & events

  • Emergency response supplies (tape, construction cones, signage, etc).

  • Website and communication tools

Seal Sitters receives no funding from NOAA, the State of Washington or City of Seattle for the work we do.
